Hello! I’m Danny, an Applied Mathematics major at Yale.
This summer, I am working as a Falcon 9 Software Development Intern at SpaceX. Get in contact with me through my email, or check out my LinkedIn!

About Me
I am a rising junior at Yale University ('22) majoring in Applied Math and concentrating in Data Mining & Machine Learning. I am also completing a certificate in Data Science.
I’m passionate about taking advantage of opportunities to make a positive difference in the world, and I believe that data science and analytics is a fantastic way to do so while also drawing on my technical skills and interests. The diverse intersection between data science and so many other industries, such as aerospace or healthcare, is fascinating to me and something I wish to explore through internships and personal projects.
Aside from academics, I am an avid technology and magic fan. I work as a Student Technician Supervisor at Yale, helping students with various technological issues. I am also one of 11 members of the Yale Magic Society, the most secret society at Yale! I love to play basketball and cook, as well.
My Experience with Data and Analytics
Roles & Responsibilities

May 2021 - August 2021, May 2022 - August 2022
F9 Software Development Intern, SpaceX
Software Development intern with the Falcon 9 Integration and Test Engineering Team. Summer 2021, 2022

May 2020 - August 2020
Data Science Intern, Optum
Used statistical and hypothesis testing techniques, as well as heavy use of SQL and Excel/PowerBI, to build data models and interactive data dashboards using Optum CDO data. Also used these methods to determine relationships between data such as re-admission rates and corresponding dependent variables such as post-discharged visits, LACE score, etc. This work provided actionable insights that guided decisions in Optum leadership.

August 2020 - Present
Research Project Manager
Project manager in computational cosmology research lab of Yale professor Daisuke Nagai. Implemented machine learning models (random forest, SVM, convolutional neural networks) and data analysis techniques on large (12,000,000+ data points) cosmological data sets to classify galaxy populations. Applications of these techniques include constraints on cosmology (e.g., modified gravity) and more accurate dynamical mass estimates.

August 2019 - Present
CubeSat Data Processing, Yale Undergraduate Aerospace Association
Member of YUAA CubeSat team, which is one of 16 teams chosen by NASA to launch into low-earth orbit. Specifically assist with data processing capabilities. Launch currently being planned with data processing module aboard.

June 2019 - September 2019
Data Project Lead Intern, Campbell Scholars Program
Supervised analysis of SAT score data for 10th grade students. Used data science techniques in Python and Excel to create an innovative SAT tutoring program which increased SAT scores by up to 20% more than traditional SAT tutoring strategies, publication in process
